Thoughts

Anyone is welcome to comment below. This is a place for sharing memories, sympathies, comfort, encouragement, hope.

Please, no one feel any obligation.  Many who are reading this will have already commented on Facebook anyway. This is here in the interest of providing a more easily referenced central place to collect any more bits and pieces that may help in the grieving process as time passes.
I'm also putting together a list of selected Bible verses for encouragement for any who may wish to reference it.  If you'd like to help by leaving in the comments on this page verses that are especially encouraging to you or others right now, that would be great.   I will eventually post at least some for easy reference under the "Encouraging Verses" tab above.  Many were asking if there was something they could do -- so here's one option.  Praying is still an excellent thing to do as well, of course.

Your outpouring of love and thoughts and prayers has been overwhelming.  Thank you, everyone.

  2. "So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?' The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

  4. Clint's undying dedication to uncovering and upholding truth will be the mark he leaves in my life. I could trust him to always stand with me so long as I was standing for the Lord. He was faithful to the truth at all times, willing to follow it wherever it might take him. Anxious to serve, ready to lead, prepared for every trial of faith, and never willing to surrender. I will miss his presence in my life more than these words will ever explain.

"We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed..." Our friend and brother has escaped this life's frailty and now rests in the glory of eternity. He's put off his robe of flesh and is crowned with immortality. His death is our loss, but to him it is the victory. Our brother is not fallen, no, he is risen - from death to life, in the arms of the Savior, standing among the holy hosts of heaven.

    Tad

  6. ~In Memory of Clint~

    You have left us,
    Gone from earthly days,
    Only memories remain,
    Of those golden rays,
    The days of your youth,
    Carefree laughter and smiles,
    Left behind are we,
    Feeling broken as shattered tiles,
As the wind to a flame,
Was life snuffed from your youthful breath,
Yet you did not die in vain,
You believed in life after death,
    Our lives you did impact,
    With your honest faith,
Such that we may have opportunity,
    From the worst eternal fate,
    We will not soon forget,
The day He took you home,
To that place in heaven above,
From where your feet will never roam

  8. My Friend, My Brother, Clint,
Thank you for the time we spent chatting around the campfire at Eminence this year. I’m so glad we got the chance to share in the fellowship one last time. I am also glad that we had the time to talk over Facebook, before you went home. Now, looking back on the moment, it means a lot to me, to know I got the chance to talk with you one more time before God called you home.
My mom and I were recently watching the memorial video that Samantha Ford put together for the celebration of your life. You’ll never know how much you were loved. My mom and I saw the pictures of the hundreds of friends you had here on this side of Heaven. Lifehouse’s lyrics will ever ring true for all of us: “We miss you!” I’ll miss you! You left a legacy behind with your many friends that we all will ever try to live up to in always keeping your memory alive in our hearts.
In saying that, I am also glad that we got the chance to get to know each other, even for the, oh so short, three and a half years that we knew each other. I am always glad and never regret when I get the chance to know someone, before their trip home. It makes me think about the countless others that I didn’t get the chance to know. I am so glad I was blessed with the chance to befriend you, my brother.
One other thing that I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing about you while you were still here is the fact that you were in a few homemade movies with your friends. I got the chance to watch them, and now I wish that I had the chance to tell you in person how much I love them! I never knew how good of an actor you were! You gave a frightening performance! I’ll keep that as a part of you staying with me forever, so I’ll never forget what kind of person you were; how much fun you were to be around.
Please know that you did teach me much, even though your knowledge was way surpassing my ability to understand. Know that I learned much about Christianity from you, even if I did have to look up most of the words you used in a dictionary. I wish we did have more time as friends, and I wish you could have taught me much more about life. Thanks for teaching me so much, as I did benefit from it. Thanks for all of your help in strengthening my Walk with Christ.
Tell your grandfather hello for me, and I can’t wait to meet him as well. Hope you are getting the chance to tell Wendell about the great life you led in the Lord along with the many friends you made. I know that I can’t wait to see you again, “in the great beyond,” as your “Saint,” character “Gabriel Ambrose,” and your “Surgeon,” character “Gabriel Cielo,” so blatantly disbelieved in. Hope all of life’s mysteries are being revealed to you. Hope you are striking up some interesting intellectual conversations with Jesus.
Can’t wait to see you again, my Brother in Christ, Ben
PS Please tell Jesus that I’m doing my best, and that’s all I can promise. I hope that I can finish my race as strong as you did.
